Ok, this might be the last update. we move in 2 weeks from today and until then, they're doing little touchups that none of you really care about!

My vanity is fixed with my sink at a taller height because I'm over five feet tall! Med cabinet still needs to be restained.

Fireplace mantle has been replaced so it could be stained the correct color. Main issue still waiting to resolve is the fireplace tile color is STILL wrong! Staircase stained the correct color (you can barely see in the left side of picture).

Carpet is in!!! You can also see the paint color very nicely here! nice contrast between the white and almond.

All of the correct lighting fixtures and fans have now been put in place.

OK, I'm really excited about this one. You know those toilet paper roll holders that spring all over the bathroom when you try to replace the toilet paper??? NO MORE!!! Just an easy slide on and off.

OK, so I'm sure you've noticed there are no major pictures of the house. You don't get to see the WHOLE thing while sitting in your jammies on the net. You have to come see it for yourself once we've gotten moved in and set the house up.

Shutters are stained and trees are beginning to die from the heat. They're staining all the interior wood the correct color this week. Wood floor is down. Covered by cardboard, but you can see a little wood peaking out. Correct color to match cabinets, staircase, etc.

Plumbing is in :)

Countertops are on. Now, they are carefully sanding and staining around the counters...

Ok, here is a better picture of the wrong stain color. They are going to strip the cabinets and restain...

The stained/painted staircase was ripped out. The new one is in place to be stained the correct color...

Correct tile now in the downstairs baths:

Correct tile now also in the upstairs baths: (kitchen and fireplace still have incorrect tile. Tile has been ripped out in front entry and awaiting wood floors).

This tree is in our front yard. Anyone know what it is?? It is balanced by a Crep (?sp) mertle (?sp) on the other side...

OK, below, you can barely see the railing in the bottom right corner that has been stained the wrong color. This is true of all of the wood in the house.
Good news: The paint color is correct. This leads Bryan and me to believe they may be starting to build the correct house. (They have been building the showcase home, not our home, for the past month). More good news (see next picture...)

Here is the incorrect tile that has been laid. We are now waiting for them to rip this up and for the correct tile to arrive and be installed...

All,
here are the stages of the bricking. unfortunately, we had some issues with the insulation, so we're a bit behind now. we finally have walls up though and they should be texturing soon.

So, we're thinking mid-July for completion now, and the good news is we were allowed to re-sign in our apt (we gave our 30 day notice 1 day before we were notified that our house completion date had been changed for awhile) so we will not be homeless.

Needless to say, we're driving to the house about 3 times a week now, so we have NO free time and we are broke from all the gas money!

Ok, the house IS coming along slowly (Kari was right!) They've been running all the wiring in the house, so Bryan and I have seen a lot of changes, but nothing that you would enjoy. We just met last week with the builder and they should start bricking and sheetrocking this week, so more exciting pictures should be to come soon...but to keep you happy for now, here's a new picture...

Hi all. I went out to see the house yesterday and it looked great. I got all the way out there and there was something wrong with my memory card. Soooo...I went home, changed out for my other card and went back out today! I missed the framing of the second story since we were in houston for Easter, but here's the insulation and window phase. From what I understand, it will look the same for quite a while now. I didn't go inside today because my little buddy was working on the house. I went in yesterday though and, well, it looks like framing on the inside of a house! We'll see if anything exciting to take pictures of happens in the next month!

The day our slab was to be poured was the day after the 9 inch rain marathon weekend. Needless to say, they did not pour that day! They poured a week and a half later. Slab might not be exciting for you, but it was an exciting day for us!!
(Bryan wants to point out the the "little gnome house"seen in the background is not on our slab....)
